Baobab
The Baobab Tree
The Baobab tree, native to the dryer regions of mainland Africa, is fondly known as the ‘Tree of Life’. They can have enormous, barrel-like trunks, which often hollow out over centuries into huge diameters. They are culturally and religiously important in many areas, having served as water reserves, shelter, a source of food and as part of herbal remedies.

The Design Inspiration
The Baobab cutlery range, designed in 2008, is inspired by the thick trunks of the African baobab tree, which is also known as the “Tree of Life”. Baobab features a wide, flat handle with soft, rounded edges, reminiscent of the distinct personality, and shape, of the trees. These wider handles also make Baobab one of our more accessible ranges. The minimalistic style of this range leans towards Scandinavian design and has a contemporary, yet timeless feel. Baobab cutlery is perfect for everyday use in the home.
Our Baobab cutlery sets, made using high quality 18/10 stainless steel, are available in a brushed satin finish only.
