Olive

The Olive Tree
The Olive tree, primarily found in the Mediterranean, is known for its gnarled, twisted trunk and silvery leaves. They are extremely resilient with the oldest Olive tree, found in Greece, being more than 2000 years old and still bearing fruit. Olive trees have long been a sign of peace, with the olive branch symbol appearing on multiple flags including the flag of the United Nations. Olive wood is also often used to craft fine furniture and sculptures.

The Design Inspiration
One of the first designs in the Studio William family, launched in 2006, our Olive cutlery is inspired by the gnarly and sculpted shaping of ancient Olive tree trunks and branches. The range features carefully refined asymmetric lines which challenge the appearance of traditional cutlery when placed on the table. The knife handles have a gorgeous curve on the back of the handle, to fit into the palm of the hand, and feature a characteristic curved blade. The forks and spoons have a lovely kick-up at the bottom of each handle for comfort in the hand, while the spoon bowls are gently off-centre, adding to the natural feeling of the range. Olive Cutlery, made in high quality 18/10 stainless steel, is available in a polished mirror finish and brushed satin finish.

Our Olive finishes…

Mirror
Our Mirror finish cutlery is highly polished and has a classic look. At Studio William, our cutlery goes through approximately 45 different polishing processes, to achieve the immaculate finish we look for.
Satin
Our satin cutlery is finely brushed, making it soft to the touch and less reflective. It also goes through a similar amount of polishing processes and carefully quality controlled to ensure we have a consistent finish.
Titanium PVD
The Titanium PVD Coating we use on our cutlery is super tough and non-toxic. It is resistant to acid degradation, dishwasher safe, and does not affect the taste of the food.
